If you have never had the pleasure of attending a dinner theater, I highly recommend that you take the opportunity if and when it becomes available.
I, and a very special companion, had the opportunity to enjoy a delightful evening last Saturday at the Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre in Indianapolis. Aside from the excellent meal and the general atmosphere, we were regaled with an excellent performance of the Rodgers & Hammerstien musical, South Pacific.
Being one of my all time favorite musicals, it also held the special distinction of being something special that my companion and I shared from many years ago, and I can only surmise that this particular musical being performed at this time and place must fall within the purview of serendipity.
Whatever the reason, it most certainly was…an enchanted evening.

Serendipity?!? Dammit, can't you see the hand of Eris Discordia in your life? Give the goddess her due already!
I've only been to dinner theatre once, with my beloved ex, and it was a performance of Dracula (appropriate for me and fun for all!) I'm glad you and your, er, companion, had a good time! My hopes are for you both...
Oh how very exciting. Glad that you two had a wonderful evening. I have heard alot about Beef & Boards but have never been there. Maybe sometime I'll make it Indy's not that far. :-)
Ahem... Well, Slacker, I'm kind of trying to stay more towards the Christian side of the pantheon, so I kind of settled for middle ground here.
Dodo, hope you make it down there some day. It's worth the price of admission.
Eris *is* part of the Christian pantheon. All of 'em are, they're just all creatures, like we are. Not the supreme objects of worship, but fellow critters in the 'verse (and some of 'em are a might active in our affairs and don't take kindly to being ignored, like Herself!) ;-)
'sides which, wasn't Serendipity the Muse Selma Hayeck played in Dogma?
Regarding Dogma, yes she was... Of course, I wasn't exactly thinking about a persona at the time of writing. :)
I was at a dinner theatre once in Portland. I absolutely enjoyed everything about it; we saw a comedy (which was quite good), but I don't remember what it was. I hope to go back someday, now that I've had a reminder that they exist. ;o)
-Winter, who lives in hickville
The Arts & Entertainment, Winter, are 'bout the only thing I enjoy living close to a metro area. All in all... I wouldn't mind going back to the sticks. :)
Morgan... whether you think about it or not: EVERYTHING'S a persona! Thus ends the shouting of a pantheistic pagan. We will now return you to your regular conservative Christian doctrine, already in progress.
Slacker, I’m really fighting hard here to hold onto the last vestiges of the Judeo Christian system I was instructed in thereby fighting the calling to become a Celtic Traditionalist!!! :)
The Apple of Discord is within my reach, and I must refuse to take it up and consume it less it in turn consumes me.
Now wait a minute. Settling for middle ground, dear Morgan? I, for one, also thought not only the night was magical and enchanting, but so was the whole weekend. The dinner theatre was only one of the many highlights, if I do say so myself. I, personally, thought the company that we kept was what actually made the whole weekend a most enchanting and magical weekend. Keep up the good work.
Oh, I intend to keep doing good, but the middle ground was simply on where to attribute the good fortune of said musical being available that specific weekend.
